Banned List of Movies in 2007

These movies have made The Banned List of 2007. Meaning that they are not worth your time time to see it, but I personally took the time to watch it for you so that you don't have to waste your time looking for it. You're welcome!

Dead Silence

At first I thought that this was going to be an interesting scary movie. A few jump scares here and there and an interesting story to follow to the end hoping for a good plot twist. The thing that it lacked was a good story.
Spoiler Alert!
An old woman seeks revenge on a certain family line because they took out her tongue. Not only that, but in her revenge she takes her victim's tongues and adds them to her long snake-like tongue so that she can imitate the voices.
It was truly a weird movie! The only thing I liked from the movie was the intro where it said, "In the 6th century BC, it was believed that the spirits of the dead would speak through the stomach regions of the living. From the Latin [word] venter for' belly' and loqui 'to speak'. Hence the word Ventriloquist." That got me really intrigued until I found out the plot was horrible.

I Am Legend
Don't get me wrong, I think Will Smith is a great actor, but this movie made the Banned List because it veered from the source material. In the book, the plagued beings were Vampires, not Zombies. I could understand that they may have wanted to appease a particular audience by making it more interesting with the Zombies, but the book made a believable Vampire monsters living in our time. I mean the author, himself thought that it would be really scary to have an army of Draculas! We've got 30 Days of Night to thank for that!

The Golden Compass
Now I'm a Christian, and I understand that this is just a movie, but knowing that this is an atheist version of the Chronicles of Narnia... Needless to say, I was not very impressed. The only thing I liked from the movie was the golden compass reference from my religion, but I'll save that for another article.

The Game Plan

This movie was too corny, even for a children's movie. Watching it reminded me of all the Disney sequels that I saw in the past. You know, the ones that went straight to DVD, instead getting the theatre treatment. Yeah... that bad!

Hairspray

I just couldn't picture John Travolta playing a woman! Granted that in previous plays, a man was supposed to play this part, but it was really hard for me to take him serious in this role, let alone keep a straight face watching him dance in a large in girth female body suit.

Spider-Man 3

All I can say about this movie is that we didn't need a 70's Emo Spider-Man with too many super-villains! Not to mention a poor casting for Venom and his terrible one-liner! "I like being bad. It makes me happy!" Really!?!

I'm sure there's more, but for the year 2007, this has got to be the worst of the worsts on my list!
